Pain, Pain, GO AWAY: Osteoporosis & Vertebroplasty: Join Dr. Marc Hamet as he discusses percutaneous vertebroplasty, commonly shortened to vertebroplasty, which is a minimally invasive procedure that is typically performed on an outpatient basis on Friday, Feb. 20. The procedure was developed to treat patients whose vertebrae have become weak from diseases impacting the spine, such as osteoporosis.
Time is Brain: Stroke Awareness: Join Maggie Crilly, RN for this insightful lecture about America’s third leading cause of death; Stroke. Learn the risk factors and prevention tips. She will also discuss the signs of stroke and the importance of early treatment. When it comes to treating stroke, recognizing early warning signs is important on Friday, March 20.
Breast Cancer: Myths vs Facts: Join Danielle Gagner, White Plains Hospital’s Breast Cancer Clinical Navigator, as she goes beyond the headlines and discusses the most common myths and facts about breast cancer risk, diagnosis and screening on Tuesday, April 17.
Get Up. Stand Up. Stay Up: Balance Basics 101: Join Physical Therapist Beth Rose as she talks about balance basics ~ getting up, standing up and staying up on Friday, May 15. Falls are the leading cause of serious injury for people over the age of 60.
