Called Our Place Memory Café, the program will provide a haven for seniors suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss, as well as their family members and caregivers.

Light refreshments and entertainment will be provided in a support group atmosphere. Our Place Memory Café will kick off on Tuesday, August 4 at North Street Tavern & Wood Fired Pizza from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will continue on the first Tuesday of every month through April.

Those with memory concerns may attend the Memory Café with a family member, friend or caregiver. To register, call Helwig, Henderson, LaMagna & Spinola L.L.P. at (914)-437-5955.

“We know firsthand how memory loss can be challenging for the person dealing with it, as well as his or her family, friends and caregivers. That is why we decided to provide a resource in our local community where we can provide support,” said Dean Brown, director of business development for The Bristal at White Plains and The Bristal at Armonk.

Faraz Kayani, executive director of The Bristal at White Plains said of the program, “Many seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease face social isolation from the rest of the world. We want to welcome them and their loved ones to a secure, welcoming and socially engaging venue, where they can feel comfortable to be themselves.”
