Women with breast cancer can receive a distress screening and up to six sessions of short-term phone counseling from a Gilda’s Club licensed mental health professional.

Short term one-on-one counseling provides women battling breast cancer the opportunity to talk about their diagnosis and work through anything causing them emotional distress. The 50-minute phone sessions will provide coping strategies and solutions to dealing with fears and anxieties of the diagnosis.

“We are thrilled to offer this free bilingual breast cancer support hotline,” said Melissa Lang, CEO of Gilda’s Club Westchester. “By removing barriers to care, such as transportation, child care and language constraints, it allows us to provide critical support to women living with breast cancer in underserved areas of Westchester and put them in touch with a range of long-term resources in our community.”

The cancer support hotline number is 914-997-6006.

Founded in 2001 and located at 80 Maple Avenue in White Plains, Gilda’s Club Westchester provides free support to men, women, teens and children affected by any type of cancer. Gilda’s Club serves Westchester, Rockland, and Connecticut’s lower Fairfield County by offering support, workshops and education.
