The ceremony will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains. The event begins at 7:45 a.m. with its Annual Latino Leaders Breakfast followed by the time capsule ceremony at 8:45 a.m.

The Boy Scouts program will be in three schools in Port Chester this fall as part of the Carver Center after-school program, and the Carver Center will be honored as part of the future of the organization. The goal is to support 350 Latino boys and help them become leaders and role models in their community. The ceremony, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month, will celebrate people who have made a difference in the Latino Community in Westchester County.

The time capsule ceremony will create a space where the Boy Scouts, parents, schools, organization and the community will come together and show the commitment to support these 350 children for 10 years until they become Eagle Scouts. They will re-open the time capsule in 2025 and will find their Eagle Badges.

“We are planting these Eagle seeds for these scouts to grow. We are depending on the entire community to help them to blossom. We hope the community joins this effort for the next 10 years,'' said Rocio Guerrero, Scoutreach Director.

Boy Scouts is for children in grades 1-12. Activities include weekend and summer camping, field trips and fun activities. Benefits of Scouting include character development, team building and personal fitness.

Sponsorship for Scout Badges are one for $20, three for $50 and six for $100. Their names will be added to the list of sponsors that are placed in the time capsule.
