The hip-hop artist and actor, aka Earl Simmons, was born in Mount Vernon, but raised in Yonkers.

Racial tensions roiling the country didn’t squash the concert’s message of unity and having a good time, lohud.com reported.

Fans told lohud.com that they were there not only to enjoy the show but to support DMX, who is making a comeback after a series of legal and personal woes.

Other headliners rocking the county center during “The Empire Strikes Back” concert were: Swizz Beatz, aka Kasseem Dean; Sean Cross, and The LOX, a Yonkers group, the lohud.com article said.

Among the local rappers performing were "Lefty" Mike Zaborowski and Mani the Mogul.
