Planning A Fundraiser? Let Eventoozi Help Make The Night A Hit

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Planning a nonprofit event can seem like a full-time job. Finding a venue, picking a date, selecting the caterers, contacting a rental company and ensuring the night goes off without a hitch requires proper foresight and a little bit of luck. However, thanks to eventoozi, nonprofit event coordinators across the country can plan their big evening down to the tablecloths without breaking a sweat.

Founded by Holly Alexander, a Westchester-based social media consultant and President of TopSpin Communications, eventoozi was born out of a need to share information between nonprofits.

"One of the biggest frustrations when planning events was not knowing what else was happening on a particular night," said Alexander. "If an event is held on the same night or even the same weekend as a larger function, yours can take a big hit." Frustrated by the lack of information available, Alexander set out to compile an encyclopedia of event information organized in one place.

Today, eventoozi is free platform for nonprofits to list their events and fundraisers, and provides complete listings of the services needed to host a successful gala. Within eventoozi, coordinators can post the time and date of their fundraiser -- ensuring the evening isn't double booked -- and browse the site's database of vendors, locations and other party essentials.

The response by the fundraising community, Alexander says, has been incredible. "Nonprofits have been thrilled," she said. "The biggest problem is that most charities are short staffed and just can't find the time to do research on what other organizations are doing. That's where we come in. We want every nonprofit event from $1,000-a-plate gala to a car wash visible on eventoozi." To date, eventoozi has supported more than 10,000 charitable events nationwide.

What's next for the now-nationwide company? Alexander hopes to give back directly to the organizations her company supports. "We're hoping to get to a point where we can provide a grant to a nonprofit each year that is funded by our advertising revenue," she said.

Until then, nonprofits and those involved in event planning can visit eventoozi's website and learn how Alexander and her team are making big evening a success for organizations of all sizes.
