The Katonah Chamber of Commerce and Northern Westchester residents recently teed up for a good cause, as the chamber held its third annual Charity Golf Outing and Gala Dinner at the Salem Golf Club. The charity event benefited Northern Westchester Hospital's Bruce & Andrea Yablon Cancer Health and Wellness Program, which provides support for those fighting cancer as well as for the caregivers assisting them.
"The program gives our patients access to different types of supportive care that helps them better manage their medical treatments," said Marilyn Leroy-Sterling, NP-C, wellness coordinator for The Bruce & Andrea Yablon Cancer Health and Wellness Program.
The chamber presented a check for $7,500 to the Cancer Health and Wellness Program this week. The program provides a variety of holistic therapies such as yoga, meditation and tai chi, which have been shown to provide meaningful comfort and support when coping with cancer.
