New Mental Health Commissioner Speaks At Greenburgh Library About Aging

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Several local experts will discuss the aging process Friday at the Greenburgh Public Library.

Mark Herceg, recently appointed commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Mental Health; Joanne Sirey of the Cornell Weil Geriatric Institute; Kate Colquitt, senior services librarian and art coordinator for the Greenburgh Public Library; Michael Friedman, founder and retired chairman of the Geriatric Mental Health Alliance; Stacey Zaslow-Cook of Aging Smart; and Linda Whetzel, curriculum chairwoman of the Learning in Retirement program at Iona College, are scheduled to serve on the “Thinking Outside the Box” panel at the event, according to a press release.

Diane Aparisio, co-chairwoman of the Westchester Geriatric Mental Health Collaborative, will moderate the panel.

The “Thinking Outside the Box” spring forum will be from 10 a.m.-noon in the multipurpose room at the Greenburgh Public Library, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford.

The event is free and open to the public.
