“As we grow older, an active lifestyle is more important than ever,” County Executive Rob Astorino said. “Regular exercise can help boost energy and maintain your independence. These training methods are just some examples of how to get more active.”
Michael Rubinfeld, fitness instructor assistant at the Burke Adult Fitness Center in White Plains, will review the definition and benefits of interval, cross-training and resistance training, as well as provide insight into how to incorporate these changes into a regular workout routine.
The benefits of body building for the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and nervous systems will also be outlined.
Admission and parking are free for members of the Mall Walk program. Sponsored by Westchester County Parks, this program offers year-round indoor health walking at The Westchester on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 8-10 a.m. To join, sign up at the horse fountain plaza near Crate & Barrel on Retail Level Two on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program.
