Friday will be a good time for superstitious folks to dust off their rabbits feet and lucky horseshoes, because its the third and final Friday the 13th of 2015.

The official term for fear of Friday the 13th is known as "friggatriskaidekaphobia." the prefix "Frig" comes from the Norse goddess for whom Friday is named.

Fear of Friday the 13th could stem from Biblical roots. Judas is often labeled the 13th apostle of Jesus Christ at the last supper. After being betrayed by Judas, Jesus is said to have died on a Friday.

Three occurrences of Friday the 13th in a single year may seem like a harbinger of bad things to come, but it isn't all that uncommon. Any time a standard, 365 day calendar year starts on a Thursday, as it did in 2015, Friday the 13th will take place in February, March and November.
