According to Tech Crunch, Facebook is aware of the issue and working on a solution. A spokesperson for Facebook said they've been alerted to battery drain problems connected to their iOS app, the story said.
Several tech bloggers have been writing about the battery drain recently, noting the Facebook app still runs in the background even when users have changed their settings to prevent it, according to both stories.
One blogger said the app drained 15 percent battery power in his iPhone in a seven-day period, even though the phone's background refresher app was disabled, Tech Crunch said.
