The Consolidated Edison, Inc. project aims to replace about 1,800 feet of existing, aging gas main on Crane Road to avoid future gas main failures, according to the statement.

The work is planned for a half-mile stretch on Crane Road between Post Road (Route 22) and Stonehouse Road, according to village officials.

Police officers will be posted in the area to assist with traffic control, but traffic delays are expected at various times during the coming eight to 10 weeks, according to village officials, who noted that traffic issues could persist if foul weather forces the project past its 10-week deadline.

Those needing to travel through the Crane Road area should allow extra time while others should use an alternate route if necessary, according to officials.

Those seeking more information on the work and its duration should call the Scarsdale Village Engineer’s Office at 914-722-1106.
