WPPAC and LoHud Comedy are partnering on the night of comedy with "Comedians at Law - Good at Law…Better at Comedy" at 8 p.m., Nov. 23, at the Arts Center, according to a news release.

"Because of their passion for comedy and their desperate desire not to practice law, the Comedians at Law joined together to travel the country, deliver their diverse and intelligent brand of humor, and entertain audiences at law schools, bar associations, law firms, comedy clubs and anyone else willing to cut a check that can be used to pay down their student loans," representatives wrote in the release. "The reaction has been overwhelming. Comedians at Law are in demand, and members of Comedians at Law have appeared on Fox News' 'On the Record,' CBS, Sirius/XM’s 'Raw Dog' Comedy (as guests and as guest-hosts of the morning program), and in The Wall Street Journal and CNN.com."

The following is a list of performers set for Comedians at Law, according to the release:

ALEX BARNETT Alex Barnett’s comedy is about family, specifically his family. As the white, Jewish husband of a black woman (who converted to Judaism) and the father of a 2-year old biracial son, he focuses his attention on the challenges of being a parent in a bad economy and the issues that confront interracial families. He has performed at clubs, colleges and venues throughout the country. He’s guest-hosted Sirius/XM Radio’s “Raw Dog Comedy” Morning show and been seen on NBC’s EVB Live, Bloomberg Law TV, RT TV America, and in The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and CNN.com.

KEVIN ISRAEL Kevin Israel has been performing comedy for more than 12 years, shaping his act through his life experiences and his crazy family. He has appeared on Sirius/XM radio and recently won the Gilda's Club 2013 Laugh-Off competition. He has toured around the country and is currently writing his first sitcom pilot.

MATT RITTER Matt Ritter recently traded big law for the big stage. He graduated of the University Pennsylvania Law School and worked as a corporate lawyer at both Kirkland and Ellis and Mayer Brown before leaving the law to pursue comedy. He is the co-creator of a new television series “Chained to My Ex” which premiered on MSNBC on Dec. 23, 2012 to rave reviews. His standup has been featured on “Man Up Standup” on the Maverick channel, and he has been a guest commentator on CBS News, Fox News “On the Record”, NBC, MTV.com, ComedyTime TV, and Askmen.com. He has guest hosted Sirius XM “Raw Dog” Comedy.

JULIE KOTTAKIS Julie Kottakis is a single mom, lawyer, writer, and comedian. As one of New York’s comics on the rise, her unique views on dating, parenting and other mundane topics, make her act memorable and also sort of disturbing. She won New York City’s Funniest Lawyer of 2010 and NYC’s Most Incredible Comedian 2012 at Broadway Comedy Club. She performs at various comedy venues throughout the New York City area, namely the Comic Strip Live and Broadway Comedy Club. She performed in the Ladies of Laughter Festival 2012 and the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival 2013. In addition to standup, she writes and performs sketch comedy and is a regular contributor on the podcast, Three Dudes and a Broad, as their “quirky” Legal Analyst.

JOAN WEISBLATT Joan Weisblatt left the practice of law after thirty years when the comedian inside her could no longer be contained. She performs stand up all over New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a solo act and with Comedians at Law, including produced shows at Gotham Comedy Club and Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City and at the Stress Factory in New Jersey. In addition to performing stand up, she is a wife, mother, motivational speaker and avid blogger on the Comedians at Law website.
