White Plains resident David Eger, one of the founders of the annual event, will host once again. The concert takes place at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Congregation Emanu-El in Rye.
Tickets start at $75 each and all proceeds support the research of Parkinson's Disease Foundation-funded postdoctoral fellow studying genetics and Parkinson's disease.
Eger, founding co-chair of the foundation's People with Parkinson’s Advisory Council, also co-founded the event, which has become an annual tradition in the community. Since 2003, Music for Parkinson’s has raised more than $500,000 for Parkinson’s research, annually drawing more than 100 guests and the support of internationally acclaimed musicians.
“Dr. Eger and his colleagues are tuned in to PDF’s mission to solve, treat and end Parkinson’s disease. We are inspired each year by their passion for making a difference for the nearly 1 million people across the U.S. living with Parkinson’s,” said foundation President Robin Anthony Elliott.
The Attacca Quartet is the Quartet in Residence for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Raps, of New York City, is pianist and faculty member at Mannes College The New School of Music.
Guests are invited to a wine and cheese reception with the musicians following the concert.
