WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Internationally known guitarist Peter Griggs is coming to White Plains' Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
Griggs will perform "500 Years of Music for Guitar" at 4 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature music for the classical guitar from the Renaissance to the contemporary era, including works by Gaspar Sanz, J. S. Bach, Bartolome Calatuyud, Django Rheinhardt and Thelonious Monk, as well as Flamenco, Brazilian music, and several of Griggs’ own compositions, according to a news release from the church.
Griggs will also discuss "the evolution of the guitar from its origins in Spain to its worldwide popularity in the 21st century," according to the release. Griggs has presented more than 450 solo guitar concerts throughout the U.S and in Germany, the United Kingdom, France and other places around the world, according to the release.
