WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Play Group Theatre, Westchester’s Theater for Children and Teens, will perform "Xanadu" at this year’s Summer 2015 Mainstage Show in White Plains.

The theater company will perform the Tony-award winning cult classic at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5, 10 and 13 at the Mainstage Theater, 1 N. Broadway, Suite 111, White Plains, N.Y.

Directed by Nathan Winkelstein with musical direction by Danny Bernstein, "Xanadu" is the story of beautiful Greek muse Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, Calif., in 1980 to inspire struggling artist Sonny to create the first-ever roller disco. "Xanadu" -- originally starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly -- was inspired by the Douglas Carter Beane book and features music and lyrics composed by pop icons Jeff Lynne and John Farrar.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors and children 12 years old or younger. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit or call (914) 946-4433.

The Play Group Theatre provides process-oriented theatre training and diverse performance opportunities for children and teenagers through classes, school residencies, technical internships, a full summer program and a varied and continual performance calendar. The non-profit educational theater organization aims to develop collaborative and communication skills, artistry, self-esteem, love of theater and a dedication to the community as a whole.
