White Plains Library Plans Children's Events In August

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains Library will host a variety of children's events throughout the month of August.

Here is a rundown:

Trove @ The Movies: "The Croods" on Friday, Aug. 1.

Hudson Valley Llamas: Two llamas will visit, there will be a short story time and facts about llamas. Will take place outdoors on the plaza on Monday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m.

Trove @ The Movies: "Mr. Peabody & Sherman / Mr. Peabody" Monday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Act It Out: This two-session drama workshop includes theater games and script reading for grades 3-6.  Tuesdays, Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 at 4:30 p.m. A group performance will be held at the end of the last session on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m.

Pajamarama: "Splish Splash Bath." Wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal friend for stories, songs, activities, and a bedtime snack on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

Learn Scratch:  Make your own computer animated game. For grades 4-6. Tickets distributed a half hour before program. Mondays, Aug. 11, 18, 25 at 11 a.m.

Tornado in a Bottle Science Lab: Make a tornado using recycled plastic soda bottles. For grades 2-6. Monday, Aug. 11 at 4:30 p.m.

Trove @ The Movies: "Meet the Robinsons" Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m.
