White Plains Library Hosts Children's Events In August

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A puppet show is among the many activities that White Plains Library will host for children throughout August.

A rundown of events is below. 

The Little Red Hen by Rosy Puppets: A hand puppet show for ages 3 and up at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13. Tickets distributed a half hour before the show.

Trove @ The Movies: Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 and 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22.

Fundama Skill Toys: Make a skill toy and learn about toys from other cultures, Grades 2-6, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19. 

Puppets to Go Presents The Frog Prince / Puppet show for ages 5 and up at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Finger Paint Fun: Messy finger painting fun from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For children of all ages up through sixth grade. Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by an adult. Thursday, Aug. 21.

Trove @ The Movies: Wall-E at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25 and 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.

¡Vamos a la Escuela! / Storytime in Spanish for children and their families about going to school at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26 and 4 p.m. Thursday Aug. 28. ¿Que Dice la Guacamaya? What Does The Macaw Say? / Bilingual presentation by Rev. Dr. Lora Kim Joyner, wildlife veterinarian and minister, who has worked in Latin America for 27 years, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.

"Going into Kindergarten" Storytime: A special storytime for children entering kindergarten this fall, includes a craft activity at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Family Storytime: Stories about school at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Registration for K'NEX Special: Begins on Friday, Aug. 29 for the New NY Bridge and I Lift NY Super Crane Project, which will run Mondays in September. Registration is limited to children in grades 2-6. Register in person in The Trove or by telephone - 914-422-1476.
