White Plains Hosts New York's Largest Chocolate Expo Sunday

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Fear not, chocolate lovers. You won't be needing to sneak into your kid's Halloween candy stash this weekend for a sweet treat.

The Chocolate World Expo will be taking place in White Plains at the Westchester County Center this Sunday.

Attendees will have access to 70 artisanal chocolatiers, along with wine, cheese and candy vendors.

Event planner Marvin Baum created the chocolate show for the State’s official holiday celebration in Albany to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2006.

Since then, the event has become the largest chocolate expo in New York.

"Aside from meeting the desires of chocolate-lovers everywhere and to give the public a "good time," Baum said, "Our goal is to promote local foods and local farms/wineries, as well as to help create local jobs and tax revenues."

Some of the expo's more unusual offerings have included chocolate cheeses, chocolate wines, chocolate beers, chocolate-flavored coffees and teas, chocolate-covered bacon, chocolate salad dressings, chocolate-covered pickles and even chocolate-infused bath products.

The expo will also have special guest entertainment by famed mentalist Marc Salem (as profiled by CBS 60 Minutes). Children and adult fans alike will also be able to have a meet-and-greet with Spiderman.

The expo is on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Admission to Chocolate World Expo Westchester 2013 is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-11, while children under 5 are free.

Tickets can be purchased online here until Saturday, Nov. 2. After that, ticket sales will be available at the Westchester County Center Box Office on the day of the show. An onsite ATM is also available.

The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Park Avenue.
