Last year, more than 250 people participated in the event and raised nearly $50,000 for the school and rehabilitation center.

Registration opens at noon the day of the race. The walk and fun run begin at 12:30 p.m.

This year, the walk-a-thon will honor Dr. Maria Pici, who has provided her services to the students and patients for 30 years.

Children that participate in the trick-or-treat parade are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

The John A. Coleman School, with campuses in White Plains and Yonkers, provides community- and center-based special education and therapeutic programs to children from birth through 21 years of age.
