Saturday, March 12
White Plains will hold its 19th Annual White Plains St. Patrick’s Day parade with William Bertram as Grand Marshall. The parade steps off at noon and goes up Mamaroneck Avenue and onto Main Street. The celebration continues post parade where nearby venues will be offering corned beef and cabbage along with lots of Irish music and dance. Information: www.whiteplainssaintpatricksday.com/.
The 27th Peekskill St. Patrick's Day parade starts at 3 p.m. starting on First Street and heading to South, Division and Main. The reviewing stand is on the corner of Park and James. Mount Kisco's 26th annual parade starts at 2 p.m. on Main St. Information: www.aohdiv16.org/.
Sunday, March 13
Eastchester's parade steps off at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Conception School, and continues north to Lake Isle Country Club. The festival and installation of the parade’s Grand Marshal, however, starts earlier, at Mulino's at Lake Isle on Saturday, March 5 at 6 p.m. Here, Helene Murtha Dooley, Eastchester resident and local librarian who can trace her family roots back to 1800s' Ireland, will be inducted. The 40th annual Northern Westchester/Putnam parade -- the third largest parade in New York -- steps off at 2 p.m. at the Mahopac Firehouse and is dedicated to Army Staff Sgt. Jimmy McNaughton Gold Star Families and Sgt. Eddie Ryan (USMC) Wounded Warrior. Information: www.SaintPatricksDayParade.net/.
Main Street in Tarrytown celebrates the Emerald Isle when its annual parade kicks off at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street. The route proceeds north on Route 9 to Sleepy Hollow. This year is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Ireland's 1916 Easter Rising and features a 10 a.m. Mass at The Church of the Transfiguration (268 S. Broadway). Show your Irish pride when the Yonkers parade kicks off on McLean Avenue at 1 p.m. The event starts near Bronx River Road, before marching west on McLean Avenue, ending at Coyne Park. Mamaroneck's Sound Shore's parade kicks off at 1:30 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue and features Grand Marshal Jim Sullivan. Information: www.soundshoreparade.com/.
Watch Irish stepping at its best with a performance by the Rhythm in the Night dance troupe. The 90-minute spectacle features a tale of good versus evil told through dance.
