Friday, July 13
Westchester County Recreation Advisory Committee: 8 a.m. The county Recreation Advisory Committee will meet at the Parks Department, 85 Gedney Way.
German Energy Pavilion Guided Tours: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The dasHAUS exhibit, presented by the German American Chamber of Commerce, is an internationally acclaimed exhibition that engages and educates the community on advanced renewable energy solutions. Trove @ the Movies: 3 - 4:30 p.m. The White Plains Library children's room, known as the TROVE, continues its Summer Film Festival with "Marley & Me - The Puppy Years." The 86-minute movie is rated PG (some mild rude humor). White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

LEED for Homes Open House: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. An open house is set for a home at 64 Holbrooke Road, owned by Gerry Angel, which was designed as a model of sustainable construction and energy efficiency. The open house is in conjunction with dasHAUS, a traveling pavilion to be constructed in downtown White Plains featuring advanced technologies for home construction and solar energy use. 64 Holbrooke Road.
Pizza and a Movie: 2 - 4 p.m. Teens can go to the White Plains Library to watch a different movie every Saturday. This week, the library will show "Salt," starring Angelina Jolie. Pizza and refreshments will be served during the movie. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Car Care Basics for Teens: 2:30 - 4 p.m. Rich Manzino from Saunders Trades and Technical High School will teach teens about cars and simple tips to keep your car running. Snacks will be provided. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Sunday, July 15
Bicycle Sundays: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A section of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The 13.1-mile round trip starts at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and goes south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. Participants can enter and exit through many different parts of the route.
Trove @ the Movies: 2 - 3:45 p.m. The animated epic "Adventures of Tintin," directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the popular graphic novels by Belgian artist Hergé, will be shown as part of the Trove Summer Film Festival. Racing to uncover the secrets of a sunken ship that may hold a vast fortune – but also an ancient curse – Tintin and his loyal dog, Snowy, embark on an action-packed journey that critics call "fun for the whole family." The 107-minute movie is rated PG for some action violence, drunkenness and brief smoking.
