What's Happening In White Plains This Weekend

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A night of live music in downtown White Plains, a real-world treasure hunt and the 2013 Miss Westchester and Miss Hudson Valley pageant shows are some of the events happening in White Plains this weekend. 

Friday

TROVE @ the Movies: 3–4:30 p.m. The TROVE Summer Film continues with the Japanese animation based on the children's novel “THE BORROWERS” by Mary Norton. The Clock family are 4-inch tall people who live secretly in another family's residence. Life changes for the Clocks when their daughter, Arrietty, is discovered. This 94-minute film is rated G. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Live Music In White Plains: 5:30-8:30 p.m. Big Salad, a New York-based duo, will perform live at Lazy Boy Saloon during happy hour, along with Christine Tembakis from Tangled Vine. Lazy Boy Saloon, 154 Mamaroneck Ave.

Saturday

Intro to Geocaching:  1 p.m. Westchester County will host a lesson on geocaching, a real-world outdoor treasure hunt where players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS. Sunday

Westchester Pageant Show: 2–6 p.m. The 2013 pageant show for Miss Westchester, Miss Teen Westchester, Miss Hudson Valley and Miss Teen Hudson Valley will be at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, 11 City Place.
