What To Do In White Plains This Weekend

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – An opportunity to pitch business ideas to a panel of experts, an Earth Day recycling workshop and a kids fair benefiting area children’s charities are a few of the events happening in White Plains this weekend.

Friday

Startupalooza: 6 to 9:30 p.m. The trade show gives people with a business idea chance to apply to pitch their ideas to a panel of professionals and entrepreneurs. Those who pitch their ideas will have a chance to win support for starting a business, including a logo designed by the Digital Arts Experience’s creative team. Digital Arts Experience on 170 Hamilton Ave.

Saturday

Recycling Workshop for Earth Day: 10:30 a.m. to noon. WCC students will present a recycling workshop called "ForeverYoung, ForeverGreen". The idea is to teach children about the three R's of going green – reduce, reuse and recycle – in a fun and creative way. Recycled arts and crafts project will follow the presentation. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Kids Fair: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. WHUD Radio, in conjunction with Westchester County Parks, and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center provide a day of education and fun for children and their families. The 100.7 WHUD Kids Fair supports The H.O.P.E. For Youth Foundation and Children's Charities in the Hudson Valley. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. New York Metro Reptile Expo: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thousands of live pet reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates will be on display and for sale. No personal pets are allowed. All children must be accompanied by an adult over 21. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 7 to 12 years of age. Children under 7 are admitted for free.
