WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A baseball card show featuring Cal Ripken Jr., a stamp, coin and paper money show and a career day for nursing students are a few of the events happening in White Plains this weekend.
Baseball Card Show : 2–8 p.m. The “ Winter Extravaganza ” will feature autograph signings by Cal Ripken Jr., Joe Theismann, John Smoltz and more. The show continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8 per day for adults and children 12 years and younger are free. Stamp, Coin & Paper Money Show : Noon to 6 p.m. The Stamp, Coin & Paper Money Show is celebrating 49 years at the Westchester County Center. There will be more than 100 dealer booths, including stamps, coins and postcards. Admission is free for this event, which continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Nursing and College Career Day : 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. High school- and college-aged students interested in pursuing a career in nursing will meet admissions counselors from various local nursing schools, learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities and hear first-hand from nursing students and nurses who are passionate about what they do. TROVE @ The Movies : 2–3:30 p.m. The White Plains Library children’s room, known as the Trove, presents "Brave," an animated adventure film from Pixar and Disney. Set in Scotland in a rugged and mythical time, "Brave" features Merida, a princess whose interests include archery and horse riding. Merida makes a reckless choice that unleashes unintended peril and forces her to spring into action to set things right.
