Friends Don’t Let Friends Text and Drive : 7 – 8:30 p.m. A safe-driving advocate will talk to teens and parents about the dangers of distracted driving. Additionally, Steve Mochel, owner of Fresh Green Light, an innovative driving school in Rye and Greenwich, Conn, will talk to the teenagers to give them the tools to influence their friends not to text and drive. They will also make parents aware of why they need to model good driving behavior by putting down their own cell phones when they are behind the wheel. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Web Browser Basics : 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. If you are comfortable using a mouse and are ready to begin exploring the Internet, you are ready to learn the basics of the Mozilla Firefox Web browser, including toolbar buttons, using links and finding information on a Web page. White Plains Farmers Market : 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The market is on Court Street between Martine Avenue and Main Street and will be open Wednesdays through Nov. 21.
Smart $ for Teens : 6 – 7 p.m. Teens in middle and high school will learn smart-money behaviors in this workshop, which is part of the Allstate Readiness Series. It provides an overview of the common money tools teens will use throughout their lives such as credit cards, checking accounts and how to budget their money.
