WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A college information session, a League of Women Voters candidates’ forum for the state Senate and Assembly, and “Sesame Street Live” are a few of the events happening in White Plains this week.

Monday, Oct. 22

New York State Small-Business Development : 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Manhattanville College will lead a program on small-business development. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Westchester Putnam College Conference : 6:30 p.m.–9 p.m. Students preparing for college can gather information and material from colleges and universities, representatives from the armed services and financial institutions at this conference. This free event is geared toward 12th-grade students, with relevant and timely information. . Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave.

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Citizenship Class : 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The White Plains Library’s citizenship class will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from September through December. The class will prepare participants to take the U.S. citizenship exam and will cover all parts of the process. The class will be held again from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Day of the Dead Workshop : 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Following ancient Day of the Dead traditions, children and their families will make an altar to honor the lives of deceased family members. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

White Plains Farmers’ Market : 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The market is on Court Street between Martine Avenue and Main Street and will be open Wednesdays through Nov. 21.

Candidate Forum : 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Candidates for the state Senate District 35, Andrea Stewart Cousins, incumbent and uncontested; Senate District 37, George Latimer (D) and Robert Cohen (R); Assembly District 88, Amy Paulin (D); and Assembly District 93, Robert Castelli (R), incumbent, and David Buchwald (D), will square off in a candidates’ forum. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Online Job Search : 7:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Learn which resources are available on the web to help you find a new job. This program is for people 18 or older and requires registration . Attendees must give 24 hours’ cancellation notice. White Plains Library.

Thursday, Oct. 25

“Sesame Street Live — Can’t Stop Signing ”: 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. “Sesame Street” becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage! Grover and Baby Bear sing their highs and lows, Cookie Monster sings fast and slow, Bert and Ernie converse in song and Murray makes mouth music for all to sing along. Show times are the same Friday. Satruday’s shows are at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and Sunday’s are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the County Center Box Office, through or by calling 1-800-745-3000. K-2 Club – Halloween Story : 4:30 p.m.-5 p.m. Students in kindergarten through second grade can enjoy an afterschool story time with a craft and cookie snack. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
