Games in the Castle.  3 to 5:30 p.m. Come play checkers, chess, Sorry, Scrabble, Candyland, pick-up-sticks, math games and more. Free.  White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains.

WEDNESDAY

Noonday Getaway Concert.  12 p.m.  Martin Kondziella, Organist. Free.  Grace Episcopal Church, 33 Church St., White Plains. 

THURSDAY

School is Starting: Keeping Your Young Athlete Safe.  1 to 2:30 p.m.  Because young athletes are still growing, they are at a greater risk for injury than adults. The consequences of overdoing a sport can include injuries that impair growth, and may lead to long-term health problems. Join Dr. Michael Schwartz, Sports Medicine Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist as he discusses how to keep your young athlete safe.   Free.  White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains.

Adaptive Sports and Fitness Seminar.  5 to 6:30 p.m.  Recreation department is hosting a panel presentation by local organizations who will provide information on adaptive sports and fitness opportunities offered in Westchester County.  Presenters will include representatives from Burke, Achilles International, NSCIA, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
