Friday, Oct. 26
Ripley Live: 8 p.m. Tony Award-winning Broadway star Alice Ripley, who won best actress in a musical for her role in "Next to Normal," performs songs from her recent album and more to benefit the Music Conservatory of Westchester and the White Plains Performing Arts Center. Family Halloween Bash: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Have a howling good time of free family-friendly activities, including face painting, arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating, games, giveaways and more. Halloween Fun Trick or Treat: Noon - 1:30 p.m. Have a spooktacular good time at The Westchester mall for the annual Kidgits Halloween event. Showcase your Halloween costume and get a jump-start on trick-or-treating, while taking part in holiday-themed activities and crafts in the Center Court on the mall’s retail level 1. Intergenerational Halloween Storytelling: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Storyteller Carol Birch will bring children and adults together to tell Halloween stories from different generations. The program is for second-graders and older, as well as adults. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Five Iron Winter Kick-Off Party: 5 – 8 p.m. Legendary golf photographer Jules Alexander will discuss his career, the great Ben Hogan, and all things golf at 6:30 p.m. Five Iron, a golf fitness training business, will show Alexander's photos of Ben Hogan, Tiger Woods, great golf courses and more. A Musical Salute to the Military: 8 p.m. The White Plains Performing Arts center joins forces with America’s Cause, a not-for-profit charity, to host a “Musical Tribute to the Military,” which will benefit the USO, another nonprofit that provides programs, services and live entertainment for U.S. troops and their families. The USO’s Liberty Bells Troupe of eight performers will sing and dance in honor and support of all active military personnel and veterans. The Battle of White Plains 236th Anniversary: 10 a.m. The Jacob Purdy House is believed to be George Washington's headquarters before the Chatterton Hill battle of Oct. 28, 1776, and for a time in 1778.
