WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A comedy show benefiting local programs, a pair of book signings by national sports figures and a Dr. Seuss-themed storytime are a few of the events happening in White Plains this weekend.
Friday
Laugh ‘til it Helps: 8 p.m. A comedy show benefiting Family Services of Westchester will feature eight young performers, including Simon Cadel, 13, who also organized the event for his Bar Mitzvah. Digital Arts Experience, 170 Hamilton Ave.
Saturday
Saturday GED Classes: 10 a.m. to noon. This is a drop-in class to help teens and adults, ages 16 and up, prepare for the GED test. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
Amar’e Stoudemire Book Signing: 3 p.m. New York Knicks captain Amar’e Stoudemire will sign copies of the latest in his children’s book series, “Stat: Standing Tall and Talented." Barnes & Noble, 230 Main St.
Jimmy “Superfly Snuka” Book signing: 4 p.m. Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka will sign copies of his book, co-written by Jon Chattman, "Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story." Family Storytime – “Seuss Alphabet Soup”: 2 to 2:30 p.m. Just one day after Dr. Seuss’ birthday, children ages 3 and up may participate in an interactive storytime with a craft focusing on Dr. Seuss and letters of the alphabet. White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave.
