What To Do In White Plains This Weekend

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Kindergarten registration, a reptile show, and an interactive concert for babies and toddlers are a few of the events happening in White Plains this weekend.

Friday, Jan. 4

Kindergarten Registration Period Begins: Register your child for kindergarten in the White Plains City School District between Jan. 4 and Feb. 22. Children who will turn 5 years old by Dec. 31, 2013, and live in White Plains are eligible. Parents who register their children by Feb. 22 may indicate which of the five elementary schools in the White Plains school district they prefer for their children. Saturday, Jan. 5

Toy Time With Puzzles: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Puzzle Days in The Trove offer children ages 2 through 5 independent, creative playtime. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave.

Sunday, Jan. 6

New York Reptile Expo: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thousands of live pet reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates will be on display and for sale. No personal pets are allowed, and all children must be accompanied by an adult over 21. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 7 to 12. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave.

Jenny Murphy of Babies & Grands Music: 2 – 2:45 p.m.  Music for babies and toddlers with parents or caregivers. Tickets are distributed a half-hour before the program. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave.
