WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Senior citizens will showcase their talents and dance the afternoon away at the annual Golden Harvest Dance and Talent Show on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

All local seniors age 60 and over who have a special talent that they would like to share are welcome to become a part of the day’s festivities during the talent show, which will kick off the day at 11 a.m. Singers, dancers, instrumentalists, group performers, magicians and seniors with unusual acts are welcome.

Registration is required for the talent show; to sign up, call 914-813-6300.

“Seniors are a vibrant part of our county and like to have fun,” said Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “So if you are a senior and you want to have fun on Wednesday, Oct. 1, The Golden Harvest Dance and Talent Show is for you. Hope you can make it.”

From 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., seniors can dance to the sounds of Stolen Moments Entertainment. Stolen Moments Entertainment will perform all the music the seniors want to hear including oldies, Big Band, Latin, Salsa and more. The event will also include group and line dances, ballroom dancing and dance instructions for the Salsa and Merengue.

The concession stand will be open; no outside food may be brought into the County Center.

Admission and parking are free for the program. The event is open to all Westchester County senior citizens age 60 and older.

The dance is sponsored by Westchester County’s departments of Parks and Senior Programs and Services, and the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services.

The County Center is at 198 Central Ave. in White Plains. The center is also served by the Westchester County Bee-Line bus system.
