WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Toys are being collected by the Open Door Foundation to make sure every needy child in the Westchester community receives something new during the holiday season.

People are also needed to wrap and organize. The annual wrap-a-thon will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 in the basement of the First Baptist Church in Ossining. Volunteers are needed for shifts throughout the day. Other wrapping days are scheduled for Dec. 5, 7, 9, 14 and 16.

The foundation is hoping to receive more than 2,500 toys for children and teens of all ages that will be delivered by Santa Claus during visits to all five Open Door Family Medical Center locations.

Donations of new toys, valued from $10 to $20, can be dropped off through Dec. 10 at

  • Mt. Kisco: 30 West Main Street
  • Ossining: 165 Main Street
  • Port Chester: 5 Grace Church Street
  • Sleepy Hollow: 80 Beekman Avenue
  • Brewster: 155 Main Street, Suite 101, lower level

To make giving even easier, the foundation has also created online Wish Lists at Amazon and Kohls:
