WHITE PLAINS, N. Y. -- Holocaust survivor Stanley Berger is the featured speaker at the annual Westchester Holocaust Commemoration ceremony set for Thursday, May 5, in White Plains.
The event, co-sponsored by the Westchester Jewish Council and the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center, is free and open to the public. It takes place from noon-1 p.m. in the Garden of Remembrance, 149 Martine Ave., White Plains.
In addition to remarks from Berger, the ceremony will feature a procession of 25 of Westchester's rescued Holocaust Torahs, and the involvement of students at Westchester Day School. Head of School Rabbi Josh Lookstein will the sound the shofar.
