WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Hudson Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will have its annual "Walk to End Alzheimer's" in conjunction with 600 other communities nationwide at 10 a.m. Sept. 29.
The 5K walk will be at White Plains High School, rain or shine. The Hudson Valley chapter is hoping to raise $267,000 to go toward Alzheimer's research.
All money raised will go to the Alzheimer's Association to further its mission "to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all those affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health," according to the organization's website.
