WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Performing Arts Center is set for the premiere of "The Fox on the Fairway" on Friday, May 16.
The arts center is sending the invitation to "laugh off your golf shirt" at the New York regional premier of "The Fox on the Fairway," a tribute from Ken Ludwig to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, according to a press release. The show will run from Friday, May 16 to Sunday, June 1, at the arts center's theater.
"'The Fox on the Fairway' takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club," representatives said in a release. "Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it’s a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and the eternal love affair with…golf."
"The Fox on the Fairway" is directed by Jeremy Quinn, producing artistic director at WPPAC. Joining the cast of "The Fox on the Fairway" are Jorge Acosta as Bingham, Amanda Renee Baker as Pamela, Marianne Matthews as Muriel, Nick Piacente as Justin, Susan Slotoroff as Louise and Cordell Stahl as Dickie.
The creative team includes scenic design by Dana Kenn, costume design by Antonio Consuegra, lighting design by Cecilia Durbin, sound design by William Neal, with production stage manager Karen Loftus.
The White Plains Performing Arts Center theater is on the 3rd floor of 11 City Place, off Mamaroneck Avenue in downtown White Plains.
Tickets for the show are $35 adults and $25 for students high school and younger. To purchase tickets, residents can visit the theater box office, purchase tickets online at the WPPAC website or call 914-328-1600. For Group Sales, call 914-328-1600.
