WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Hudson Valley Alzheimer's Association will hold its annual golf and tennis tournament at Elmwood Country Club on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

Entry fees for individual golfers are $400 and for tennis players $250. Several event sponsorships are also available.

Registration for golf will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a shotgun start and scramble tournament at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served on the course.

Registration for the tennis tournament will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a warm-up at 12:30 p.m. and a round-robin tournament at 1:30 p.m.

After golf and tennis, a cocktail hour will be held at 5 p.m., followed by a barbecue dinner, an awards ceremony and raffle at 6 p.m.

All funds raised will go to the Alzheimer's Association to further its mission "to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all those affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health," according to the organization's website.

"Your participation will fund vital expert Alzheimer's Association services provided to the nearly 40,000 persons with dementia living in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Westchester counties as well as their family members and caregivers, and will fund Alzheimer's research into the cause, cure, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's disease," the organization said in a statement.
