Renée Taylor To Bring Comedy Routine To White Plains Performing Arts Center

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Renée Taylor, best known for playing Fran Drescher’s mother on the television series “The Nanny,” will perform her comedic one-woman show  “My Life On A Diet" at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, ay 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.

The 81-year-old actress and lifelong yo-yo dieter says she remembers her life around what she was eating and what everyone around her was eating.

The 90-minute performance is a nostalgic culmination of her 60-plus career in show business (including a longtime friendship with Marilyn Monroe), as well as a humorous memoir of her diet misadventures. It is co-written and directed by her husband of 49 years, actor/director Joe Bologna.

It is also, as Taylor confessed, "a lot more intimate and meaningful than most people expect."

Tickets are $25 to $50: Visit the theater box office at 11 City Place, 328-1600 or go online to www.wppac.com.
