WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Play Group Theatre (PGT) announces "20 Days, $20K, for 20 Years" fundraiser, a celebration of its 20th anniversary.
“It’s like watching your baby grow up and suddenly you realize they’re not an adolescent anymore,” said Jill Abusch, the theater's founder and artistic director. “And just like children, it takes a village to raise a theater,” added co-founder and executive director, Steven Abusch, attributing the theater's success in reaching 20 years to the ongoing volunteerism and financial support from the community.
In honor of the twentieth anniversary, and in order to propel the theater into its next phase — the next 20 years — it has been given a special opportunity by a generous donor. Every donation made will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000, turning the community's $10,000 gift into $20,000, with only 20 days to get it done.
The "20-20-20" campaign will go live on Monday, April 20, just one day after the opening of the theater's first show of the 20th anniversary season, "A Year with Frog Toad," playing on Sunday, April 19 and Sunday, April 26.
Hosted through www.booster.com/playgroup , all donations starting at $20 will come with a brand new PGTee-shirt. Available in many different styles, donors can shop around for what’s best. The goal of $10,000 will be hard to reach on just PGTee-shirts alone. Donors can name their own price at checkout to increase their donation and get the theater closer to its goal. No gift is too small; at $20, even kids can participate. Donations to The Play Group Theatre are tax-deductible.
