Pace Offering Free Cyber Security Workshop For High Schoolers

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University invites high students to attend a free, five-day summer program designed to introduce high school students to the fundamentals of cyber security July 25 to 29 on the Pleasantville campus.

Utilizing SeaPerch, an underwater robot. Each day students explore the concepts of cyber security first principles through analysis and investigation. The camp experience includes hands-on labs and interactive activities that incorporate SeaPerch, as well as meeting Millenia, a life-size robot.

At the end of the camp, students will be able to demonstrate proficiency and apply critical thinking to the following areas: cyber-literacy, cyber-science, cyber-warfare, and cyber-society.

No prior knowledge of cyber security or SeaPerch is required.

The workshop runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 861 Bedford Ave., Pleasantville, N.Y.

Free breakfast and lunch are included.

Applicants must live within commuting distance.
