Come Drink And Raise Money For Bronxville Library On Feb. 26

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- It's not too late to buy tickets to the Great American Women Authors 2016 Fundraiser, which is Friday, Feb. 26. The celebration will focus on famous female American authors -- and their favorite drinks.

Anne Sexton is one of the writers who will be featured at the Bronxville library -- along with her love of martinis -- on Friday.

Participants will be able to sample featured authors' favorite cocktails, as well as partake in a "legendary" raffle that includes vacation homes, sports tickets, theater tickets and more. Diana Templeton will also offer a live performance.

Some of the author-drink combinations include

Anne Sexton -- martinis
Carson McCullers -- hot tea and sherry
Dawn Powell -- vodka
Djuna Barnes -- whiskey

Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door. You can register online here. The event runs from 7-9 p.m. at the Bronxville Library, 201 Pondfield Rd., in Bronxville.

The fundraiser supports the library's furniture replacement fund, and the event is sponsored by Friends of the Bronxville Public Library.
