Music Conservatory Schedules February, March Events

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. --  A music therapy student's performance is among the events scheduled at the Music Conservatory of Westchester in February and March.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester will host its student, Matthew Welling, at is 216 Central Ave.,White Plains location, as he performs tunes off his new album “You Be The Rock Star” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb . 28. 

Welling, a 9-year-old music therapy student at the conservatory for the last five years, will perform several tracks off his debut album - a combination of piano, drums and singing. The youngster was directly involved with the production of each of the 12 tracks on his debut album, which includes original songs and covers.

All proceeds from the album sales will go to the Music Therapy Institute. 

Another event, Open Mic Night, is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5. The event follows the success of its Jan. 8 production, which featured musicians of all ages performing an eclectic mix of songs from Broadway to indie rock. Free to the general public.
