Marvel At Lights And Sounds During Holiday Fest In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The holiday season gets underway with the annual lighting celebration on Sunday, Nov. 29 in Tibbets Park, White Plains.

The City Lights, Bright Holiday Nights Community Celebration takes place from 4-6 p.m.and all are invited to attend and take in the sights and sounds of the season. 

Holiday music will be provided by Standard Deviation, as well as the White Plains Youth Bureau Chorus. Taiko Drummers will perform traditional Japanese drumming. Also performing will be the Forever Young Singers of the White Plains Senior Center; the White Plains Middle School Jazz Band; and the Stepinac Winds.

Santa and reindeer will visit, as well as Frosty, Rudolph, and Olaf from “Frozen.” Other park activities include an ice carving exhibit, face painting, crafts and train and carousel rides. 

Mayor Tom Roach will light the evergreen in the park, the Hanukkah dreidel and the holiday lights around the park. Each will be decorated with LED lights. 

Complimentary refreshments will be provided, and food may be purchased from Walter’s Hot Dog Truck. 

Community sponsors are Whole Foods Market, Muse Paint Bar, Webster Bank and The Rockland Boulders Minor League Baseball Team.

Tibbets Park is located at the corner of North Broadway and Main Street.
