We asked for your top picks for our DVlicious “Best Soup in Fairfield County” contest and whittled it down to five finalists. Each has been profiled this week with the winner selected Monday, Feb. 22. Here’s a “bowl-ful” rundown on one of them.

Liquid Lunch, 6 Research Dr., Shelton, (203) 926-6038

Number of Soups Offered: 10 to 12 daily. The most popular staple is Beef Barley, but the all time most requested is Roasted Artichoke Chicken Gorgonzola.

Worth Dishing About: Owner Fred Bialek makes every single soup using the best ingredients he can find and his heart and soul can be felt in every sip. The Culinary Institute of America-trained grad used to come home after working in a cafeteria and make a batch of soup to de-stress. Said his wife, Michele -- the two own Grow in Shelton together -- his gift is being able to combine just the right flavors and textures together in one pot and create an experience.
