Delaware Robbery Suspects Arrested By NJ State Police In Mercer County

A pair of robbery suspects from Delaware were arrested in Mercer County by New Jersey State Police, authorities said.

Michael Larbi, 25, and a 16-year-old boy, both of Dover, DE, were wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in Smyrna, DE, State Police said.

On Feb. 29, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Delaware State Police reported two robbery suspects that fled from a traffic stop and crossed into New Jersey.

Through various investigative means, troopers identified and located Larbi and the juvenile at the Woodrow Wilson Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike in Hamilton Township, police said. As the trooper approached, Larbi briefly attempted to flee on foot before both suspects were arrested without incident, police said.

Larbi was charged with receiving stolen property, two counts of unlawful possession of weapon for unlawful purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, fugitive from justice, resist by flight, resist arrest and tampering with government documents. Larbi was being held in the Mercer County Jail awaiting extradition.

The juvenile was charged with receiving stolen property, two counts of unlawful possession of weapon for unlawful purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and fugitive from justice. He was held at the Ocean County Jail and later picked up by the Delaware State Police.
