Police in Lower Makefield responded to reports of a burglary on Waterford Road around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said in a release.
When police arrived, they saw a man later identified as 23-year-old Trevor Weigel tackle a female to the ground and repeatedly stab her, according to the DA and 6abc.
While running away from police, the man then repeatedly stabbed himself in neck, authorities said. Police attempted life-saving measures on the injured female, who was taken to the hospital where she died, according to police.
Weigel was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Charges against him will be filed at the appropriate time.
