Chaos began when David Jackson assaulted a victim after an argument inside a home on the 2200 block of Garrisonville Road around 5:40 pm. on Friday, Oct. 21, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
After the incident, Jackson blocked the exit, preventing the victim from leaving, police said.
Rather than calling for help, he got into a vehicle and tried to flee — only to end up crashing into two black archways on Rock Hill Church Road.
The man decided to flee as he felt police were closing in on him, they said. Officers learned he had active warrants out of both Stafford and Spotsylvania counties, and were going to serve those warrants around midnight on Saturday, Oct. 22.
After the crash, Jackson abandoned the damaged vehicle and fled on foot, so by the time police got there, he was gone, authorities said.
So, the officers went back to Jackson's home in their second attempt to serve the warrants, and found out that he was in a bedroom, they said.
K-9 police dogs were brought to the scene, where Jackson eventually surrendered.
Jackson was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery, abduction, hit-and-run, as well as, destruction of property. He was also served on his outstanding warrants.
He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
