Man, Woman Suffer Critical Injuries After SUV Crashes Into Tree On Long Island

It happened around 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 in North Bellport.

Michael C. Turner, age 47, of Shirley, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape northbound on Station Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said.

Turner and a 34-year-old female front-seat passenger were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries, according to police.

A 21-year-old male passenger in the backseat of the vehicle, who was ejected during the crash, was transported to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
