Man Arrested In Double Newark Shooting

A 27-year-old Newark man was arrested in a shooting that sent two victims to the hospital, authorities said.

Police officers responding to reports of shots fired responded to Hillside Avenue near Avon Avenue around 4 p.m. Monday, April 6, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.

Two victims were treated for gunshot wounds at University Hospital, and later reported in stable condition.

Surveillance footage from several locations identified Zireek Wyckoff as the driver of the vehicle which the gunfire originated, Ambrose said.

Wyckoff was arrested Monday, June 29, on aggravated assault and weapons-related charges.

They left no stone unturned in gathering video evidence of this senseless violence, which resulted in two shooting victims.”
