New York State Police say a 22-year-old man was traveling in a ride-share car on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 17 in the Nassau County town of Hempstead when he was shot by an unknown person in a dark-colored SUV on Saturday, Oct. 5 around 5:45 a.m.

Multiple rounds were fired into the vehicle, and the man, who was the sole passenger, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
